WebThe first crew-rotation scheme for the LCS was called 4-3-1: four crews for every three ships to keep one forward. Since there would be 4 crews for every 3 ships, this means that there would be 1.33 crews per ship. WebThis thesis develops “LCS Scheduler” (LCSS), a mathematical optimization model using a mixed-integer, linear program (MIP) to aid in assigning LCS crews to LCS ships. LCSS’s objective is to minimize the penalty associated with assigning crews outside of their desired ship pairing and/or extending them beyond four months in a phase. While the “Blue” crew is deployed and operating the ship from it’s FOB, for example-Singapore, the “Gold” crew is in Mayport and training to be ready to deploy and operate the LCS.
