Web10 sep. 2024 · Any MERCON V fluid has to meet Ford's spec so technically yes, they are equal but the Motorcraft fluid is what you should be using. Same for the rear end, use Motorcraft, probably 80W90. If the rear end is a limited slip axle you need to add friction modifier fluid as well. In my opinion, the best MERCON V fluid is Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF.
